Eva & Tim Mitchell are the sole owners and creators of Make Cents of Travel. We both understand that your privacy online is important and this statement governs our privacy policies and is inclusive of users of the Make Cents of Travel site who visit and also users who make use of the various services offered by the Site.

This Privacy Policy explains the rights you have over your personal information and how you can opt out of certain uses and disclosures of your personal information, and, as a courtesy, provides a number of useful links to third party information regarding privacy protection.

What Information is collected and how do we use it?

Subscribing to Make Cents of Travel

We may collect your email address, name, or your website (if you are wanting to work with us) but only if you voluntarily provide it to us. This may occur, for example, if you sign up to receive an email newsletter, enter a promotion, leave a comment, or to receive our freebies. 

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comments form (name, email, and your comment) and also the users’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection and to identify the comment owner.  At your option, you may also add a profile picture to your comment. Please note that only your name, the content of the comment, and the profile picture (if chosen) will be displayed publicly on the website indefinitely, or until a time that you contact us to remove a comment. 

You can request to have your comment(s) removed at anytime by contacting us via our web Contact Form with your name, email address and the comment(s) you want removed.

Our Two Cents Newsletter

On the Site, you have the option to subscribe to our newsletter, which may contain promotional and informational content.   • We will store your basic account information, or sign up information until you ask us to delete them.
  • If you have inadvertently received one of our newsletters or other unwanted communication, or had a change of mind and no longer want to receive emails from us. You are welcome to opt out of future communication from us at any stage and your name and email will be removed from our email database.

Make Cents of Travel does not knowingly collect contact or personal information from children under 18. Nor are any of our Services or content targeted to Children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received information from a child, we will delete such information from our records. If you want to notify us of our receipt of information by children under 18, please do so by emailing us via our web Contact Form.

How is Personally Identifiable Information stored?

Your email address, name, any comments are stored on our server. We have implemented security measures to protect this data from unauthorized access, breaches, or misuse. 

Sensitive information, such as credit card numbers are stored in third party service vendors (i.e. Stripe Payment Gateway). Refer to the third party service vendor privacy, and security policies.  

Management of Personally Identifiable Information

If you have subscribed to this site, or left comments, you can request to receive the personal information we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request to that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
